Edmond Public Schools' teachers are encouraged to join their state professional organization,
the Oklahoma Council for Social Studies. It serves as a link to other outstanding professional groups, such as OKAGE, OCEE, NCGE, and NCHE, (etc.) who offer resources, training, and conferences aimed at improving social studies curriculum and instruction. In addition, the OCSS website is the most current listing of new materials, opportunities, etc. for Oklahoma's teachers. Access its online resources at www.okcss.org.
For another extensive listing of websites offering resources (in the form of lesson plans, original documents, technology-based activities, assessment ideas, etc.) use the National Council of Social Studies wonderful collection. Use their data bank to search at http://databank.ncss.org/links.php
