Dr. Laura Riffel Positvely Amazes West Field Parents

Parents of West Field students came together on October 12th to learn techniques for smooth behavior management with positive strategies that really work!  Thanks to Dr. Riffel for her wonderful ideas and to all the teachers and volunteers who provided child care for the event.  We had a great turn out!

Great Expectations Model School Status Contiunes

CONGRATULATIONS!  Faculty and students at West Field Elementary School have once again achieved the status of Model School under the Great Expectations program.  To learn more about all the ways GE impacts student learning and improves our school culture, check out the Achievement link under our About Us tab.  Way to go West Field!

Bedlam Bet Brings on Bounty

This year West Field students and families rose to the challenge of donating non-perishable food items for the Hope Center of Edmond.  As an incentive to do our best, the annual Bedlam Bet was made.  At stake?  Being taped to the cafeteria wall to be target practice for an arsenol of pies!  Mrs. Jernigan and Mrs. Singleton represented OU while Mrs. Tulp and Mrs. Hause represented OSU!  All four lucky ladies ended up "taped and pied", but the real winners were the needy families of Edmond.  Our school donated 1,484 items to the Hope Center!  Thank you to all the generous participants!

West Field Workers

Thanks to all the volunteers who came out to help beautify our school grounds!  The Boy Scouts did an amazing job on our playground equipment, and many others helped to prepare our entry way to welcome students.  Working together, we are planting the seeds of success!

Kindergarten Enrollment Coming Soon!

West Field Welcomed Chef David Foust

Helping Hearts for Haiti

Boys and girls at West Field know how natural disasters, such as tornadoes, can affect our lives.  So when they learned how the people of Haiti were affected by an earthquake they opened their hearts and their wallets to make a difference.  Our Haiti fund raiser has been a big success!  All the proceeds will go to purchase Water Sticks that will be sent to help victims in Haiti to have safe drinking water.  With the help of a Watch D.O.G. volunteer, Cameron, a student from our Safe and Fit School Committee, bravely demonstrated how effective the straws are for cleaning out dirt and other pollutants.  What a great way for West Field students and families to share our love around Valentine's Day!
