7th grade Pre-Algebra/ Algebra 1

Course Description

Algebra 1:

Your students will have the opportunity to study the basic Algebra skills, while focusing on the real-life application of these skills. We will focus on problem solving and reasoning, while learning and exploring the rules behind Algebra Concepts. We will be integrating technology into our classroom. Students will learn the concept of note-taking skills in the classroom.

Since this is a Pre AP Class, the class pace will be accelerated and students will be expected to think at a higher level. During the course of the year, students will be asked to explain, demonstrate, and apply skills learned in the classroom. The intent of a Pre AP class is to prepare students for the accellerated math program in high school. Therefore, attendance and staying current with their assignments is vitally important for the success of the student.
