Central Middle School became a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence on May 24, 2002.

An enormous amount of work went into accomplishing this goal.  It started over two years ago when the Blue Ribbon Committee began its' work.  After an intense application process and a site visit, Central Middle School found itself the receiver of the award.  Of all the schools in Oklahoma, only two were selected; Edmond Memorial High School, and Central.  Central's Blue Ribbon team went to Washington D.C. in October.  The team was made up of: Tara Fair, Teresa Kastl, Mark Kirk, and Diane Gothard.
