EDMOND PUBLIC SCHOOLS
Tuesday, February 2, 2010
As a result of the five snow days that have been taken by Edmond Public Schools during the 2009-2010 school year, the following decisions have been made concerning how to make up these days:
Þ Three snow days are built into the regular school calendar. The last student day of school would have been Thursday, May 27, 2010, if there had been only three snow days.
Þ A fourth snow day will be added on to the end of the school year making the last student day
Friday, May 28, 2010.
Þ The fifth snow day was made up on Monday, February 15, 2010. This was originally scheduled as a district in-service day for teachers and a day off for students. School was in session for all staff and students on February 15, 2010.
Þ If one or more snow days occur beyond today, an option to be considered is an extension of the length of the regular school day in order to make up the hours missed.
Hopefully no more snow days will be necessary. In the event that more snow days are required, we will strive to communicate promptly any future modifications to the school calendar.
