CHEYENNE 8TH GRADE FOOTBALL INFORMATION Greetings from the
Cheyenne Middle School Football Staff!
Welcome to 8
th grade football and we are looking forward to working with players and parents in the upcoming season. Enclosed you will find information that both student and parent must read and approve in order to participate.
1. Physical Form: This is a top priority and state law requires this to be done every year after May 1
st. (Can be picked up in the main office)
2. Permission to Participate Form: Must be filled out by paretn and student
3. Rules Sheet signed by student and parent. (cut off bottom part for us and keep the rules) We need to have an extra inhaler for all asthmatics. Put a piece of tape on it & print your child’s first & last name.
4. Concussion Form: (new form) This form is reading material to make you aware of growing concerns regarding concussions in athletics. Parents and students must sign the form acknowledging they have read and understand the information.
PLAYERS MUST BE PICKED UP AFTER PRACTICE NO LATER THAN 15 MINUTES AFTER THE SCHEDULED PRACTICES ARE OVER. IF A RIDE IS CONTINUOUSLY LATE, A MEETING WILL BE REQUIRED WITH BOTH PARENT AND COACH TO ALLOW THE PLAYER TO CONTINUE WITH THE TEAM.

PRACTICE SCHEDULE 8/02 THRU 8/20

Thursday, 8/02: Parent Meeting (6:00 pm- 6:30 pm in library) to go over rules. From 6:30-7:30 check out equipment for players with physicals on file).

Tuesday (8/7) thru Thursday (8/9): Practices are from 7:00am -10:00 for all players. Shorts, t-shirts, practice jersey, and helmets w/ mouthpiece are required.

Friday, 8/10: Practice time is 8:00am - 11:00am. (First time in full pads.)

| Saturday, 8/11: We will have an intra-squad scrimmage for everyone. Practice time is 8:00am-10:30am. (OUR ONLY SATURDAY PRACTICE) |
| Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday (8/13-8/17): Practice time 3:00-6:00 (subject to change due to extreme heat index) |

| Monday (8/20): Practice time 3:00-6:00 |
| Tuesday (8/21): We have a scrimmage at P.C. Hefner. (4:00-6:30ish) |
| Normal Practice schedule (M-F) of 3:00-5:30 will begin on Wednesday 8/22. This practice schedule will be followed for the remainder of the football season. |
| Friday (8/24): No Practice |
