Origins

Like many native people, the Cheyenne use stories to recount their origins, the reason for their rituals, and to honor their heroes.  It is believed that most Native Americans originally came from Siberia, probably crossing the Bering Strait over a narrow land bridge that once joined Asia and Alaska.  They have many different creation stories.  Here is one of the Creation Stories of the Cheyenne Culture, Sweet Medicine Teaches the People.

In this unit you will learn about the Cheyenne people.  The class will be divided into groups of three students   Each group will be responsible for researching one of the following areas, then presenting a PowerPoint to the class.  First, click on your assigned area.  Read the instructions carefully!  A list of resources, both online and book, will be provided.  You are to use these resources to research your area, then use the facts you find to create your PowerPoint presentation.
