World War II

We will study many aspects of this important time in history. We begin by studying the Holocaust and Hitler's rise to power. This is both fascinating and heartbreaking as we learn from our past. We examine heroes of the Holocaust who risked their lives to save others and about Jewish resistors who fought back against the Nazi regime. After our study of the Holocaust, we examine the military aspects of the war and create parachutes for our "egg pilots." As you can see above, not all eggs survive the fall!
Inventions

8th graders- be thinking of the perfect invention to enter in our Invention Convention! You will draw or create a prototype of your idea, and 3 winners per class will be entered in the National Invention Convention!
World
World domination is the goal of this unit! Each group creates an imaginary country, then collects "soldiers" by completing projects about the country (a Constitution, flag, etc.). When war is declared, countries "attack" other countries with these soldier points.
Other units throughout the semester may include: Salem witch trials, Renaissance, Zoo, Egypt, or simple machines.
