3. Swine Week Report: Caleb Wahl, senior at EMHS presented ideas for the upcoming Swine Week, March 8 – 12. Swine week will raise money for The Jimmy Everest Cancer & Blood Disorder Center at OU Children’s Hospital, with 5% of proceeds going to the common thread interest among all three schools. Caleb suggested 1: setting a school goal and awarding a prize to the students if the goal is met; 2: encourage a parent to coordinate the 3 on 3 basketball tournament. Suggestions were made to move the location to a better gym; 3: continue to offer the OU/OSU jars for collection; and 4: have high school students stand outside during carpool to build awareness.
Amy Maple is serving as Chisholm’s chair, but could use additional assistance. Caleb will get information to go in folders out by next week.
4. Teacher Report – Mrs. Shryock thanked the PTO for the wonderful new computer lab.
5. Principal Report – Mrs. Graham also thanked the PTO for the computer lab. After waiting on a part to be ordered and installed, it should be up and running this afternoon. Due to high moisture, the floor was not able to be installed in the new area. Since it takes 10 days to cure, it will have to be installed this summer. She would like to continue with plans for the district open house, but will report back. They hope to have the kids go outside today. It’s been a long winter of indoor recess.
6. Counselor Report –Mrs. Murray reported new student breakfast on January 12th. 5th grade writing test is scheduled for February 24th. Five monitors are needed. Please let her know if you are interested. Monitor training is mandatory.
7. Old Business –
A. Marquee – old sign has been pulled and installed in the back. The location has been staked and lines have been marked. Waiting for materials to come in and should take about one week to make. Once installed, electrical will be done through the district. Mrs. Graham will talk to Tracy about removal of the old marquee.
