What is happening for next year?

At Chisholm Elementary we are looking forward to seven classrooms having ceiling mounted projectors provided by the Edmond School District.  Four classrooms will be receiving interactive SmartBoards.  These are being provided through a combination of funds from the District and our generous PTO.  Thank you PTO for all that you do for our classes and Technology!!

What’s new?

Classroom Jeopardy Games!

Thanks to the generosity of Devon Energy and KFOR, each grade level  First through Fifth Grade now have a Classroom Jeopardy game to share.  The classes may use Jeopardy for a fun way to review material that their teachers have presented in class.  Thank you to Devon and Channel 4 for their donation to our school!!

Interactive Equipment!

Sympodium Interactive Lectern with Smart Board Software gives us the capability of a Smart Board with the flexibility of a portable station.  Ideal for classroom use, individual students and teachers can manipulate the pen display as the entire class participates in the lesson.  See the sympodium in use during Music Class on the  right.  Training and equipment provided by Edmond Public Schools.

Class Web Pages

We have expanded our Chisholm Web Site to include many class web pages.  Check for schedules, upcoming events, and pictures of classroom activities.

Technology at Chisholm Elementary

At Chisholm Elementary we strive to integrate technology into all aspects of curriculum.  Students utilize computer stations in our Multi-media lab (25 networked stations) for whole-class activities.

We also have grade level pods (8-12 networked stations per grade level) for small group or individual lessons.   Students use computer stations to explore, research, create, and discover in all subject areas.  Each classroom also has a mounted 32 inch monitor with learning station for presentations, group internet research and CD/DVD access.

Technology Ambassadors

*    Fourth grade and Fifth grade TAC team members maintain computer stations and assist first graders with their scheduled computer time.  They also participate in special projects such as creating flyers for school-wide activities and designing posters and signs for technology areas.

*    Students wishing to participate in TAC team must submit an application at the beginning of the school year.   These exceptional students often give up their recess and/or free time to accomplish their assigned duties.

*    Please see Mrs. Rice (fifth grade) or Ms. Horn (fourth grade) for TAC team applications and information.
