HOLA!  WELCOME TO 6TH GRADE SPANISH!  I HOPE YOU WILL HAVE FUN LEARNING THE BEAUTIFUL LANGUAGE OF SPANISH.  WE WILL CONVERSE IN SPANISH EVERY DAY, SO KEEP UP WITH YOUR CONVERSATION PRACTICE AND VOCABULARY LEARNING.  BY THE END OF THE SEMESTER, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO STRIKE UP A CONVERSATION ANYTIME, ANYWHERE -  IN ESPANOL!

PARENTS - YOUR CHILD WILL NEED TO SPEND 10-15 MINUTES NIGHTLY ON SPANISH LEARNING.  IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT THE STUDENT PRACTICES OUTLOUD DAILY TO GET COMFORTABLE SPEAKING THE LANGUAGE.  AFTER ORAL PRACTICE, HAVE YOUR CHILD SPEND SOME TIME LEARNING NEW VOCABULARY.  WITH THESE TWO SIMPLE STEPS WE'LL MAKE GREAT PROGRESS!

****2ND SEMESTER NOTES:  Please have your child bring (3) sets of index cards, 1 small box of sandwhich bags and 1 box of gallon-sized plastic bags to Spanish class.  Any pocket folder or place where the student can keep all Spanish work will suffice for a folder.  The students are off to a great start!

WELCOME TO 6TH GRADE SPANISH!

OVERVIEW

6th Grade Spanish will be fun!  You should be hearing your child speaking Spanish at home already.  In Spanish class we have weekly conversations that are memorized and added to the following week.  By the end of the semester, students will know how to greet each other, ask and tell about names, country of origin, and likes/dislikes.  They will also be able to describe their own personality, appearance, and clothing as well as that of others.  Finally, they will be able to converse about their family and their school.

Speaking Spanish is a skill so important to your child's future ability to find jobs, travel, and get along. I hope your child enjoys this class and leaves wanting to learn more.

You may check the Classwork/Homework link of this website for assignments, test, calendar and other information.
