  6. ROY G BIV worksheet of color words
    Fill in ROY G BIV worksheet of color words, nouns and adjectives. Optional reference: I Eat the Colors of the Rainbow song
    Follow-up with the drawing toolbar in Word, using the Auto Shapes, Basic Shapes to create a rainbow. Drag out one arc shape. Copy and paste to layer enough additional arcs to complete Roy G. Biv. Use the Fill With Color tool to fill each shape with the appropriate color.
    Tip: Press Enter to drop down several lines before beginning your rainbow shapes if you want to add information on the lower part of the page.
    Use character bullets to list the information about rainbows. Begin with a bullet, Right-click, Bullets & Numbering, Customize, and Character. A raindrop can be found in the Wingdings font. Clouds can be found in the Webdings font.
    Follow-up with an Indoor Rainbow experiment from National Geographic.

    Follow up with the writing processor, Word. Type sentences. Use text color or highlight colors to label parts of speech in each sentence.

    Use Word Art in Microsoft Word to illustrate adjectives Print, cut out and post on an adjective display. Follow up Activity: Using Microsoft Word write sentences using the descriptive words illustrated by everyone with Word Art.

    Do you know how to type the degree symbol?
     

  16. Math Baseball
    Students document their runs/outs per session in Excel. Use Excel's function feature to figure their batting averages. Double-check with the computer's calculator. Students use the digital camera to take pictures of each other. Create your own baseball card to display the information you've gathered.
     

  17. Lemonade Stand
    Use an online dictionary, Word Central, to research and discuss profit, expenses, etc. Be sure to watch the weather forecast on the TV, and then make wise decisions. Option: the Top Entrepreneur could get a lemon goodie bag! "Entrepreneur" - look that up too. Use Merriam-Webster Online.
