"Give me a lever long enough and a fulcrum on which to place it, and I shall move the world." -- Archimedes
Three years of science are required for graduation at EMHS. Students are encouraged to enroll in Biology, Chemistry and Physics, which will adequately prepare them for the science portion of the ACT. Freshmen are required to take the Biology EOI (End of Instruction) exam as mandated by Oklahoma's State Department of Education.
AP classes in Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Environmental Science are offered at EMHS for possible college credit. Other electives include Anatomy, Astronomy, and Zoology. Most science classes require a scientific calculator. Technology is a large part of data collection in the laboratory portion of the classes. Laptops, Lab Quests and the latest data-collecting Probes are used extensively in our curriculum. EMHS has a rich history in science education; we constantly strive to improve, and we celebrate our successes.
