Common recommendation letter questions about students

Requests for Letters of Recommendation

Please follow these guidelines if you plan to request a letter of recommendation.  With appropriate advance notice I can write you the best letter possible.

 

  • Two weeks of prior warning
  • A file or pocket folder with your name written on the outside including the following:
    • An addressed, stamped envelope
    • The due date clearly visible
    • Information about the award, camp, program, or scholarship you are applying for
    • A resume that includes courses, grades, test scores, hobbies, leadership experience
