North High School Counselor’s Corner
Volunteer Opportunity: The American Red Cross is hosting a “Project Youth” day. All high school students are invited. The one day event will be held Saturday, November 3rd from 9:00am to 1:00pm. RSVP to www.okc.redcross.org by October 26th. Please take one small child’s toy or hygiene item for donation.
Current Scholarships Available: Scholarship applications and information can be picked up in the counseling center. Available scholarships are posted in the glass cases located in Senior hall and outside the counseling center.

College Visits: Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays during tutorial from 9:40 to 10:00am, college recruiters come to visit our students. These recruiters share information regarding their institution with our interested students. These scheduled visits are announced daily and posted on the televisions in the halls.

Test dates: College entrance exams are becoming more competitive. Our counselors
suggest you begin taking the ACT and SAT exams your sophomore year. Your
student can test several times, becoming familiar with the exam and allowing
them to achieve higher scores.
