All current and former Latin students are encouraged to join North Latin Club. The dues are $5, payable immediately to Mrs. Sylvester. After October 1, the dues will increase to $10. The focus of our club is participation in school events and preparation for the state and national conventions of the Junior Classical League. North Latin Club is proud to announce that our own Tobiah Isbell is the president of the Oklahoma Junior Classical League for the 2008-2009 school year. This is a first for our club, and as a corollary to Toby’s office, Edmond North will host the state convention March 27-28, 2009. We are very excited about this opportunity to offer the best convention experience ever to the 300-400 Latin students and their sponsors and chaperones who will be attending. There will be activities and events for every interest and ability level. The success of the convention will depend greatly upon parental support, so please let Mrs. Sylvester know right away if you are available in any capacity to assist the club in preparing for and/or hosting this important state competition.
The first Latin Club activity of the year will be organizing a float for
the Homecoming Parade, which is September 17. This will be the third year
that Latin Club has a float.
The club has had almost 100 members every year. This year we hope to be in
the Century Club of NJCL chapters with 100+ members.
