AUTHOR VISITS

Oklahoma's award-winning author, Anna Myers, spent the day on April 1, 2010 in the Media Center with our 6th grade reading classes. She is the author of many young adult books, including:  Red Dirt Jessie, Spotting the Leopard, Rosie's Tiger, Ethan Between Us, Stolen By the Sea, The Keeping Room, Spy, Graveyard Girl, Confessions From the Principal's Office, Flying Blind, Assassin, and many more.  Her books appear on many "best books" and Sequoyah masterlist award lists. She is a wonderful speaker and storyteller (also a retired Language Arts teacher) who lives in Chandler, Oklahoma. Anna has been a frequent guest author at Sequoyah for many years, and we always enjoy her visits! Check out her website at www.annamyers.info

The state's budget crisis has severely impacted libraries statewide for the 2010-2011 school year, and we have lost our funding for author visits. But never fear, we are looking for other funding sources and hope to have an author visit in 2011. Stay tuned.
