Hi! My name is Janel Cypert. This school year I am starting my tenth year of teaching and I am excited to celebrate it at Summit Middle School. It truly is a great place to be. Teaching is my passion. It is my goal to help students acquire stronger reading and writing skills so they may be successful individuals in the world. My classroom motto: “Pick Success. Failure is not an option!” My classroom is a student-centered environment where students have fun learning and are held to high expectations academically and behaviorally. I am looking forward to this year and working with you and your child. Together, let’s make it a great year!
Respectfully,
Janel Cypert

Since the first day of school, this class has been built around the students' needs. About half of the hour is devoted to OCCT prep and the other half is time for students to complete homework and receive help 1:1, small group, or from a peer. We have had a successful start with this schedule, and it will stay flexible based on students' needs. Grades are are based on completion of OCCT prep or class activity the first part of class.
