SEQUOYAH BOOK LIST

Sponsored by the Oklahoma Library Association, the Sequoyah Book Award is a students’ choice award.  The Sequoyah Book Award program is designed to encourage young Oklahomans to read outstanding literature written for children and young adults.  The Sequoyah Children’s Book Award has been presented since April 1959.

Any Oklahoma student from grade three through junior high who has read or heard at least three books on the Sequoyah Children’s or Young Adult Book Award masterlist may vote.  Voting is done by secret ballot, and each student is honor-bound to vote only for a book he or she has read or heard.  The winning book is announced in February.  For more information on the Sequoyah Book Award, along with a list of the current selections, visit the Oklahoma Libraries web site at http://www.oklibs.org/sequoyah/2007chmasterlist.htm
