Our 2025–26 Excellence in Leadership Award recipient is Catherine Johnston, Assistant Principal at Santa Fe! 👏
Each year, EPS and the EPS Foundation recognize an outstanding leader who makes a lasting impact across the district. We surprised Ms. Johnston while she was leading the Student Foundations Committee, just one of the many ways she supports students and staff at Santa Fe!
She will be formally recognized at the Celebration of Excellence and at Meet the Stars alongside all of our 2025–26 award winners. 🌟 #ShineYourLight

3rd–5th graders at West Field put their knowledge of the 2026 Sequoyah Book Award nominees to the test! 📚 Classes gathered to cheer on their favorite teams as students worked together to match book facts to the correct titles. It was a fun mix of high energy and a shared love of reading, which is always a winning combination! #ShineYourLight

Across the district, 6th grade literacy classes are hosting their annual “Book Sale,” where students choose a favorite book, bring a themed goodie and present why it’s a must-read to their peers.

Checkmate. ♟️
Orvis Risner’s Chess Club, led by Mrs. Wolf, has been a huge success this year! Dozens of students meet once a week before school to learn and practice the game, and it’s been impressive to see how much they’ve learned and how much they remember from week to week.
Even more special, this club is made possible through the generosity of donors who gave through DonorsChoose, supported by the Edmond Public Schools Foundation. All of the supplies and chess boards were purchased through a DonorsChoose project!
To those who give: this is the impact of your dollars in action.
This club wouldn’t be possible without Mrs. Wolf’s dedication, along with the support of administrators, the community and staff! ♞✨ #ShineYourLight
