Each year, EPS and the EPS Foundation recognize an outstanding leader in the district. This year's Excellence in Leadership Award was given to our Director of Fine Arts, Eddie Hudson. Our district administrators and principals surprised Mr. Hudson as he was leading the Boulevard Academy drum circle today, one of the many ways he works to promote our core values through the arts. He'll be recognized along with our other award winner at the Celebration of Excellence and Meet the Stars. 🌟🎭 #ShineYourLight

Our March Core Value winners were both nominated for HOPE this month! We're pleased to recognize: ✴️ Jessica Tate, Music Teacher at Chisholm. Mrs. Tate is always seeking ways to spread hope for her students and colleagues. She worked tirelessly to initiate the first Special Olympics Music and Dance Festival. Her initiative brought so much joy to the performers and audience members alike. ✴️ Amanda Bollinger, 3rd grade teacher at Angie Debo. Mrs. Bollinger never gives up! She is super committed to her students and her family and is very solution-oriented. She inspires hope in her students because she believes in them and teaches them to believe in themselves. Thank you both for living out our core value of hope! ✨ #ShineYourLight

Redbud Elementary’s first-grade classes had an egg-citing lesson in life science as they incubated eggs, carefully watched baby chicks hatch and learned how to care for them responsibly. One class even let the chicks choose their own names by letting them standing on notecards with different name options! This experience gave students a unique look at the life cycle while teaching patience and responsibility! 🐣🌟 #ShineYourLight

Heritage is bringing history to life! 🕰️ Today, fourth graders took on the roles of historical figures in the infamous Traveling Wax Museum! After weeks of research, students transformed into "Wax Figures" and presented their findings. Students from other grades participated in a bingo-style scavenger hunt, searching for figures that matched different descriptions. Both teachers and students agree—this is the best day in fourth grade! 🌟 #ShineYourLight 🔗 | Dive Deeper: https://www.edmondschools.net/article/2071476
